Well my new post must have gone out into cyberspace. Anyway the new owners have registered this name so I will close this off with these words. I thank the Lord that he allowed us to have this place for a couple of years and help realise a dream of Lori's to own a place where people came to because they had "heard about us." This definitely started to happen and it gave me such joy to remember people and what they liked.
I am posting a few final pictures that were taken and want to extend all the best to the new owners Dane and Ruth. May they experience much success but more importantly may they sense the presence of the Holy Spirit within those walls and minister to the people who come inside the door.
We were honoured to have been chosen as a treasure of Alberta and you can find us at www.treasuresof.com and key in Alberta and Bentley. This site features independent businesses in 3 Provinces and many states so if you travel and like to go to Ma and Pa operations this is the place to check it out.

This was our last restaurant and were very proud that we were considered a treasure of Alberta..Here are Chefs hard at work doing a Christmas dinner we hosted every year in our little village.

http://www.treasuresof.com/ and key in Bentley to see our store and a write up.

Hubby and I attended Culinary Arts in Calgary in our late 40's and it was a two year course at that time. It was hardest for me as I had to relearn everything and would continually hear the Chefs yell, "quit doing it like a housewife Lori!!"
I was so proud of my hubby when he won the top scholarship which paid for our second years tuition.
We had some difficulty initially with kitchen territory at home but one of our chefs explained that he and his own wife (who was also a Chef) said you decide who is doing what in the kitchen.
We were a great team hubby and I and although for about 36 years of working 15 hour days it was quite an experience, we survived but THOROUGHLY enjoying our freedom.
I thought I might miss my little cafe but NOT for a moment. I only missed one customer "Dora" who would sit in the same chair every am and pm and have the same thing everytime.
She was like a second mom to hubby and I.
The SAIT program now is only 8 months and I have NO idea how they could learn what we had to. It was NOT an easy program and I am not sure if I knew then what I know now I would have taken it.

For any of you in the USA to find any neat independent places and not just food go to the www.treasuresof.com and key in your place and State...it is VERY interesting to find some excellent places to visit or eat.
